Doctors visit

I’m titling this post doctors visit because that is where my mom went today for her usual check up with the neurologist. It’s always the same thing she walks in there and doesn’t know what way to go. It makes her more confused to do these things. It’s hard for her to get out of the car now. She struggles to walk in the door and up the stairs.  Her body has became so weak and frail and all you can do is try and hold back the tears. This really for me right now is helping me with me in the heartache in words that I write.  So I understand that this disease takes everything from you and it affects your family that have to deal with it.  My dad has been very great with my mom he supports her all the way and I know it isn’t easy on him.

Well she came out of the office with my dad and she totally forgot I was sitting there waiting for them. It’s very devastating to watch your parents go through this. There really are no words to say ! I’m the one that drove them down there . I ask my mom what she had for lunch and . She has to ask my dad because she can’t remember. It’s devastating ! I’m trying to cope with this the only way I know how. I’m very concerned about my mom but I don’t want to break down I need to be strong for my dad.  She has lost more weight now she only weighs 93 pounds. She was 98 pounds so she has lost 5 pounds since her last visit.  All the doctors do is prescribe more medicine that just makes her sleep more and be more confused. It’s very frustrating on you and all you can do is pray for them that they are at peace and love them no matter what.

I can empathize with your situation. My mama had Alzheimer’s and it was so hard on her and all of us. I wish I had some words of wisdom to ease the pain but I don’t. I can only tell you that you’re not alone. There are people who understand and will pray for you and your family.
